From the first arrival to the last departure
- Find the student. Search by first or last name, or scan the student’s printed QR code with your device’s camera.
- Record the arrival. Check the student in and use the current attendance view to see who is here. The next staff member can work from the same record.
- Record the departure. Check the student out when they leave so their visit includes both an arrival and a departure time.
- Review the history. Look up past visits, export attendance records, and correct a missed entry with a reason.
Check students in by name or QR code
Name search is a straightforward way to start: staff find the student in the roster and record the visit. There is no code to print before the first check-in.
For students who attend regularly, print individual QR codes or a batch from your roster. Open the QR scanner in the attendance workspace and use your phone or tablet camera to scan the student’s code. If a student forgets their code, staff can still search by name.
Keep attendance useful after the rush
A student sign-in and sign-out system should help with more than the line at the door. Open a student’s history when a question comes up, review visit trends and busy hours, or export records when you need them outside the workspace.
When staff miss an entry, they can add the visit or correct a time while keeping a reason and an audit trail. Your team has a record to refer to at the next handoff.

A few things to know
Questions about student check-in.
- What equipment do we need?
- Use a computer, tablet, or phone with a web browser and an internet connection. Name search does not need a camera. To scan student QR codes, use a device with a camera and allow camera access in your browser.
- Do students or parents need an account?
- Staff handle attendance in the center’s workspace. Students and parents do not need an account for staff to record arrivals and departures, and students can bring their printed QR code for staff to scan.
- Can we import our existing student list?
- Yes. Import a CSV roster or paste student names, then review the list before saving. You can add students individually as your center grows.
- Can multiple staff members use the same attendance record?
- Yes. Invite your team to the center’s workspace and give them the appropriate owner, admin, or staff role. Staff can find students and review attendance without keeping separate paper lists.
- Can we correct a missed check-in or check-out?
- Yes. Add a missed visit or correct an attendance time with a reason. The audit trail preserves the original activity so your team can follow what changed.
- Can we export attendance records?
- Yes. Attendance history and CSV exports are included in the base plan, alongside student records and attendance analytics.
- Can parents receive check-in and check-out notifications?
- Yes. The optional Communications add-on sends email alerts to guardians for student check-ins and check-outs. It costs an additional $10 per month for each 100-student block.
